Also called Hakozaki Hachimangū 筥崎八幡宮, Hakozaki no Miya 筥崎宮 or Hizen torii 肥前鳥居. A stone pillar type of gate characterized by short projections on its transverse members. These include the three main horizontal members: the top lintel *kasagi 笠木; the secondary lintel *shimaki 島木; and tie beam *nuki 貫.The pillars have a slight inward incline, and are wider at the bottom than the top. There is also a strut, gakuzuka 額束, between the tie beam and secondary lintel. The top and secondary lintels have three parts and their ends curve upward. Example: Hakozaki Jingū 筥崎神宮 (1609), Fukuoka Prefecture.
