A penetrating beam *nuki 貫 that is inserted into the structure of a belfry *shōrō 鐘楼, roughly even with the lower part of the bell. It is positioned between the penetrating beam *hinuki 飛貫, placed just below the tops of pillars, and the penetrating tie beam *jinuki 地貫 at the base of the pillars.
