Also pronounced kumomasu or unto. Lit. cloud-shaped bearing block. A bearing block carved with a cloud-shaped decorative pattern found at Hōryūji 法隆寺 on: *Chūmon 中門 (7th century), *Kondō 金堂 (rebuilt 693), *Gojū-no-tō 五重塔(late 7th-early 8th century), and the nearby temple, Hokkiji *Sanjū-no-tō 法起寺三重塔 (706), all in Nara.
