Multiple windows. Two or more windows connected horizontally, or windows connected within one frame window with vertical strips between them. If two windows are in line, they are called nirensō 二連窓, when three windows are in a line, they are called sanrensō 三連窓. Double windows are also called *rensōmado 連双窓 or *meotomado 夫婦窓. Multiple windows arranged vertically are called dansō 段窓, and these are connected by horizontal strips called mume 無目. These windows are often used in tea ceremony houses *chashitsu 茶室.
