A ripsaw. A saw used to cut timber in the same direction as the wood grain. There are various types of ripsaw including: the standard purpose ripsaw *maebikinoko 前挽鋸; the heavy duty ripsaw *gagari 鋸賀利; and the wide blade ripsaw *maebiki oga 前挽大鋸.
