Also called tobiradōri 扉通. The alignment of gate pillars *hashira 柱 and the tie beam *nuki 貫 in a straight line. The gate doors are placed along this line. Posts placed in front and/or behind the aligned gate pillars, and are attached to them at angles of 90 or 45 degrees are called *hikae-bashira 控柱. These posts stabilize and sustain the line of gate pillars.
