Lit. "broken well crib." Also yabureigeta. A design used for muntins *kumiko 組子 on sliding screens *shōji 障子 and railings *kōran 高欄. A variation of the parallel-cross pattern *igeta 井桁. Used for muntins that do not run across the whole length or width of the screen or railing, but are broken off at intervals.
