Prof.
Dale Kinney describes the development of the basilica form of
ecclesiastical architecture in Rome through the surviving evidence
of the destroyed building of Old St. Peter's. During the same
period, a second major architectural form emerged, the central
planned church, explored through the Church of San Lorenzo in
Milan.
