1 A trapezoidal form created on top of the posts that frame the host's entrance *sadōguchi 茶道口 to a tea ceremony room *chashitsu 茶室. It is considered a variation of the curved door-top called *katōguchi 火灯口. Example: the *kyūjiguchi 給仕口 of the tearoom, Shōkintei 松琴亭 at Katsura Rikyū 桂離宮 in Kyoto.

2 The flared, skirt-like, lower portion of a belfry *shōrō 鐘楼. This type of belfry structural element appeared in the late Heian period and became common there after.
