The transverse beams placed in a row at right angle to the large header beams *kabuki 冠木 found on of a castle gate *yaguramon 櫓門 and on a wide gate nagayamon 長屋門 in front of a retainer's dwelling buke yashiki 武家屋敷 from the 16th century onward. They are located just below the ceiling.
