Tea Houses
The correct seating position for the host when performing tea ceremony. For example, in the Urasenke 裏千家 school, a portable brazier *furo 風炉 is placed on a board *naga-ita 長板, or pairing tile in the center of the host's mat *temae-datami 点前畳. The host sits about 24 cm from the board. When the hearth is fixed, the host sits facing either the outside or inside corner of the frame. See *daisu 台子, *gyakugatte 逆勝手, *daimegiri 台目切.
