The correct seating position for the host when performing tea ceremony. For example, in the Urasenke 裏千家 school, a portable brazier *furo 風炉 is placed on a board *naga-ita 長板, or pairing tile in the center of the host's mat *temae datami 点前畳. The host sits about 24 cm from the board. When the hearth is fixed, the host sits facing either the outside or inside corner of the frame. See *daisu 台子, *gyakugatte 逆勝手, *daimegiri 台目切.
